My new green side table

Check out my GIVEAWAY too!!

After I made my coffee sign coffee tables, I decided that they wouldn't work in our living room.  We have 2 very active girls and a baby who needs somewhere to play!  So like Yoko, I broke up the Beatles tables.

They are now our side tables in the master bedroom!  However, we need some kind of table in the living room.

I have this table by the end of the couches:
While I love the little bird and the table itself, it's not working for storage of diapers and random other living room stuff that needs some storage.  It's also not practical from a baby perspective. -Lightweight, glass top, easily tipped...you get the pic.

So, I was out to find a table worth a Kari-style makeover (that means cheap!).    I found this bad dog at a consignment shop going out of business!

I know, it looks like a throw back to the 70's, but wait there's more....
I sanded the top down and re-stained it.  The bottom details were not going to get sanded too much work!  So, I primed the bottom with stinky oil based primer.  I would have pics of this, but the camera battery needed recharged and I wasn't waiting!

I also carved a little somethin' somethin' in the top!
Sorry for the crappy pic and the dust!
So after that, I covered the top with newspaper and spray painted the base of the table Olive Green.

Total cost: $14.50
Table-$10
Paint-$4.50
