The Macklemore Thrift Shop Challenge

I am taking The Macklemore Thrift Shop Challenge from Sherry and John over at YHL!!

Now I am bending the rules a wee bit,  I bought my stuff a few months back and photo shopped the $20 photo.  But it's totally legit, too legit to quit hey hey...you're singing it aren't you?!?! :)


Step #1-Take a picture of yourself with $20.

Step #2-Spend $20 and photograph your loot.

$14.99-Pair of Original Modern Dux Chairs-with the original tags still attached!!  I originally went to this tiny thrift store one town over because they had some ottomans on Craigslist for $8...when I got there the ottomans were gone.  But they had these chairs- they were marked $14.99, I thought that meant each, nope for both!  Then she loaded them in my car for me. (I was pg with Oliver at the time!)

$5 for an office chair that has an Eames-esque vibe.  The seat is torn all to crap, but I am going to recover it this weekend with some rag rugs I have!  I picked this up at the Habitat for Humanity :)

Step #3- find something from the song

{Re} Painted Stairs

When we first moved in our stairs looked like this:

After I ripped the carpet off the stairs, I painted them:

They were starting to look a little shabby, so I decided to paint them again.  Don't be mad at me....I painted them months ago, like before Oliver was even born!!

When we built the barn door baby gate, the little stairs looked even worse.

The whole front edge had rubbed off.  blah.


I decided to paint them gray...only problem is that it is just slightly off of the wall color.  Making the dining room and kitchen look a little drab.  Floor and wall matching is a no no for me.
I painted it anyway and just went with it :)  Which means once again, I will be changing it up again!

new dining chairs....oh my ;)

I am giddy like a school girl over my new chairs!!

I bought them from Overstock.com here.  They are glorious!  I. Am. In. Love. If I weren't already married, I would marry these chairs.   (love you honey!)

I will take a pic of them in my dining room sometime this week.  Right now I am in the middle of redoing an armoire in there and it's a freaking mess.  :)

PROJECT FAT ASS UPDATE:

I lost me 7.5 lbs last week!!

I was going to start 30 Day Shred today, but alas we are rocking a sick family these days!

That's right, I am hoping to lose 73 lbs this year.  F that, I am going to lose them this year!  Like we're going to play hide and seek and I am going to neglect them and not find them again, like EVER!

Mr. TSL and I have had many surprises in our lives and we have decided that the most spectacular 4 surprises will be our only 4 surprises :)  No more babies up in here. They all gonna make me lose my mind, up in here, up in here....sorry I was jammin.

Anywho, now that I am done having babies it's time for me to get my shit straight!

I will drag you on my journey with me and promise to be a better blogger this year!  I super sucked at the blogging thing last year.  I was a little pre-occupied.  2 year old and a new baby....plus babysitting for a little extra dough.  I got some kick ass projects done, but lacked bloggy time for it.  To tell you the truth, I lacked motivation to write about them too, not just time.

Back to Project Fat Ass....  I'll keep you updated hopefully weekly on my weight loss.  If I give myself a time frame on the weight loss I am destined to fail.  I am an all or nothing kind of girl.
